The 1990s were a decade of typographic transition, from the analog grit to the digital experimentation. Some of the biggest trends were the counterculture grunge movement, playful and whimsical typography, bold geometric sans-serifs, ultra-bold, condensed sans-serifs, like Impact, and the rise of early digital/cyberpunk designs.
