About Julius Roman
Julius Roman is a modern book typeface in 3 weights, regular, italic & bold. Look careful, as the serifs are not based on a scribal tradition, rather they are purely constructed. Their forms don’t originate in a certain nib model, they’re made up with straight lines – an attempt to bring together old-style characteristics with a modern design approach. The Italic only slants slightly to the right. It is much narrower than the upright alphabet. There are no top serifs for the main strokes of the lowercase, but only exit serifs at the bottom strokes ending on the baseline. As Julius Roman was conceived as a bilingual text typeface, there is an informal Hebrew alphabet included for free.
