Neo-grotesque fonts
These fonts are the tidier, less idiosyncratic siblings of the grotesques from which they evolved. They are characterized by consistency in form and uniformity in the details. The ‘italics’ are usually sloped versions of the upright letters, called obliques. Neo-grotesques are often described as plain or neutral but many contemporary designs belie those labels.
