- About Mencken Std Head
- Mencken has twenty-seven styles. The styles are divided into three widths, three optical sizes, romans, italics, borders and dingbats. Mencken is unique because it is designed according to the different axes and optical sizes. Mencken Text is a low-contrast transitional typeface. It is designed on an oblique axis and asserts the horizontal with featuring open counters. Mencken text capitals follow Didot to better harmonize the rest of the family. On the other side of the spectrum, Mencken Head (and its narrow variations) is designed on a vertical axis, high contrast, in a contemporary Didot style. Mencken is, therefore, a typeface that answers to different sorts of design use.
