About Rumba
Rumba was the project developed by Laura at Type and Media at the KABK in The Hague, 2003/2004. The three fonts are based on the same model, but with varying contrast, construction and degrees of expressiveness. It comes with several alternative characters, special ligatures and all the characters needed for the languages based on the Latin alphabet, which makes Rumba a multilingual typeface family. The family consists of Rumba Small for short texts, Rumba Large for headlines and Rumba Extra, when a flavour of hand-lettering is called for.
