- Addressing the essence of decoration, Phiz demonstrates an eclectic diversity of possibilities, all applied to the same root style of Shinn’s neo-Victorian typeface Figgins Sans. Constituting this suite of variations are four sub-families: 1) the Classic styles of the early 19th century, 2) the Rounded forms of the mid 20th century, 3) the Rough patina of the 21st, and 4) a novelty: glyphs generated by a profusion of repetitive graphic Particles, stochastically programmed to occupy character shapes.
