- About De Worde
- De Worde is a spirited letter inspired by the early italics of the 16th century, principally those used by the printer Wynkyn de Worde. These first italics had no matching italic capitals and were initially used with roman ones. However, for contemporary use italic capitals were designed to match the fluid strokes of the lowercase. The end result is a typographic texture that has a strong painterly brush-like feel. De Worde’s fonts run from the angular, energetic lighter weights through to the friendly relaxed ease of the heavier ones. The extended character set includes small capitals, ligatures, and several alternates.
