- The history of Roman London is fascinating and as a child Paul Harpin had been obsessed with Roman lettering. He wanted to try his hand at a classical font and the resulting letterforms in LDN Grace Roman have a refined delicacy about them which can be attributed to Mr Harpin’s painterly approach. LDN Roman was drawn initially as an exercise by Paul, immediately after designing his first typeface Laura that was released to raise funds for Cancer charities and became the foundation of the buyfontssavelives campaign. Laura was Paul’s niece, another cancer victim. Her middle name was Grace and it seemed fitting to incorporate it into the LDN Roman title.
