- About Elaine Ombré
- Elaine is a loose interpretation of baroque types from the most diverse sources. We didn't wanted to focus on the work of any particular type or typographer, but we must admit that the work of Jacques-François Rosart was very present in several aspects of Elaine, like the Ombre and Fleurer, based on the Double Cicero Ombré and Double Philosophie Fleurage from J.F. Rosart Specimens. We completely changed the traditional proportions of the original baroque types, increasing the x-height, revising the texture, colour and width. The result is a very contemporary approach to 18th century types, with an extensive family of typefaces specially conceived for editorial design.
