About Tuppence
Inspired by the London foundry Stephenson Blake typeface Blackfriars, designer extraordinaire Roberto de Vicq de Cumptich reimagined this quirky gem for today. de Vicq brought a more graceful appearance to the design and explored its reversed contrast nature with new weights, while still retaining the warmth and character of its English primogenitor of the Victorian era. The proportions of the lowercase are decidedly wider and more geometric overall. Tuppence includes a marvelous selection of catch words, swash capitals, ligatures, arrows, and over a hundred beautiful ornaments. Picture Tuppence used on beverage labels, greeting cards, posters, restaurant logos, and in other display mediums.
