About Joly Display
Joly takes its inspiration is the 18 th century Dutch type. It began as a research / revival project, as one does when exploring type design history, and rapidly turned into a full contemporary type design project. At first, Joly was to be a text layout oriented font family but it became clear that the typeface needed some additional optical sizes, hence the Display cuts. The sturdy foundations make it a great tool for long and small text sizes, the humanistic letterpress feel within the Text cuts let it cover many kind of uses: from small size print editorials to big display banners and posters.
