The French Clarendon is an outgrowth of the mid 19th-century slab serif Clarendon, but with exaggerated blocky serifs. It has also come to be associated with the Wild West and ‘Dead or Alive’ bills posted in Westerns. We have grouped all Clarendons and French Clarendons together — because they're often similar.
